I moved to Texas two years ago and only recently finished the manuscript I have been working on since before the move, which naturally led me toward researching book publishing companies in Texas to see whether staying local made more sense than going with a national platform — some seem genuinely full-service and author-focused while others feel harder to read from the outside, so has anyone here worked with a Texas-based publishing company and can share honestly what the experience looked like from start to finish?
